Ways to Help a Bride

If your close friend recently got engaged and is super busy with planning her wedding, here are some great ideas on things you can do to actually help her!

Research

For a bride, one of the things that takes the longest time when booking vendors or making wedding decisions is just doing the research. As a friend, you can research different choices within certain categories and narrow down the options for her.

One example of a category you can research is bridesmaids' outfits. You can look through various websites that have bridesmaids' outfits (I bought mine from IndianWeddingSaree) and make a list with links, shipping time, pricing, and your take on whether or not it's a good option to buy.

Spreadsheets

Once you do the research, a great way to present your findings to your friend is via a spreadsheet. For example, you can make a spreadsheet of mehndi artist options, their pricing, and link their Instagram accounts so the bride can easily browse the options.

Other examples of categories you can help out with researching and making spreadsheets are:

  • Return gifts
  • Jewelry
  • Stationery

Choreograph a Dance

If you're a dancer, one thing that will save a lot of time for the wedding couple is if you can help choreograph some songs. Choreography is one of the things that takes the longest amount of time, and there are usually multiple performances at South Asian weddings, so any assistance with choreo is an immense help to the bride and groom!
